Everyone has their own way of making this modern brunch classic. This flavour combination keeps it simple yet delicious.
- 1 avocado whole, ripe
- 1 tsp garlic puree
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 basil leaf finely chopped
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
- Pinch of dried chilli flakes optional
- 2 slices of wholemeal bread
Halve the avocado, remove the stone and slice the flesh in a grid pattern. Scoop out using a spoon into a mixing bowl. Add the garlic, lemon juice, basil, salt, black pepper and chilli flakes and mash together with a fork.
Toast the bread, dollop and spread half of the avocado mixture onto each slice and cut into diagonal halves. Serve immediately.
